Michael D. Minnis


A 23-year veteran of mortgage banking, Mike began his career with the Lomas and Nettleton Company. As a Regional Account Manager, he was able to quickly gain the knowledge and skills he needed to begin a career in mortgage banking. In 1990, he was hired as the Vice President and Director of Correspondent and Wholesale Lending with Farm and Home Savings, Missouri/Texas Thrift. There, he built a $1,000,000,000 a year production operation from the ground up. In 1994, Mike accepted a new position with Mellon Mortgage Company as the Vice President and National Sales Manager of the Correspondent/Wholesale Lending Division. In 1996, he joined Temple Inland Mortgage Company where he served as Vice President and Regional Manager of Wholesale Lending. In 1999, Mike became a Regional Vice President with CitiMortgage, a division of Citigroup. Over the next 6 years, his responsibilities increased from Western Division Sales Director to a position as Regional Vice President, responsible for sales and operations of the southwest region. In 2005, Mike joined UBS Home Finance as national director of sales for the wholesale lending division. In 2007, he joined ServiceLink, a division of Fidelity National Financial as senior vice president of national sales. In 2008, he formed Platinum Title Partners a Texas based title agency and serves as its president.

Mike is a long-time member of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association and has served on numerous committees thereof. He served as president of TMBA in 2007/2008. During 1999-2000, he was President of the Houston Mortgage Bankers Association. Over his career, Mike has been directly responsible for the acquisition of over 30 billion dollars of residential mortgages. Today, his company Platinum Title Partners is a full-service title company servicing mortgage bankers, builders, realtors, as well commercial lenders around Texas.

Mike is a 1985 graduate of Texas Tech University where he earned a Finance and Real Estate degree, and he currently serves on the TTU Rawls College of Business Advisory Board.

Kathleen Martin

Chief Operating Officer/Sr. Escrow Officer

Kathleen has extensive experience in the operation of both residential and commercial closing and escrow functions in the title company. She has worked in the title insurance industry in Houston for the past 26 years and has been employed by USLife Title Insurance Company, Fort Bend Title and Abstract Company (where she was a Branch Manager and closed Perry Homes for 7 years) and Regency Title Company before coming to our offices in 1998. She is very experienced in resolving all title insurance and closing issues.

Twila Grooms

Client Relations Director

Twila Grooms graduated from Texas Tech University in 1991 with a Business Administration degree in Marketing and Finance. She began her career as a Professional Sales Representative for Pfizer, Inc. After deciding to change careers and advance her education, Twila enrolled at South Texas College of Law where she received her Juris Doctor degree (Cum Laude) in 1999. Twila was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1999 and worked as a Judicial Clerk for the Honorable Justice Margaret Mirabal of the First Judicial Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas. She then worked as an associate in the Trial Section of Thompson & Knight, LLP in Houston, Texas. In 2003, she established Twila L. Grooms, P.C. where her practice is focused on document preparation. Twila also concentrates on developing relationships with builders, developers and realtors.

Twila is a member of Second Baptist Church, the Real Estate Section of the Houston Bar Association and the Association of Women Attorneys. She also serves as a volunteer for the South Texas College of Law Moot Court program.

Steve Hightower

Executive Vice President

Steve has been in the title industry over 17-year career in Texas and on a National level. He began his career with Commerce Title (Centex Homes) working in the retail and builder title plant and branch offices in North Texas. After moving up to Regional Manager, he had oversight for Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston for retail branches. In 2004, he was assigned the Commercial department, which handled land acquisitions and other commercial transactions for Centex Homes and retail clients. He was later assigned to the Eastern US region and worked closely with the homebuilder in Florida, North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia. In 2010 after the acquisition of Commerce Title by REDC (, Steve served as a Senior Vice President and oversaw the title operations on a national level to support the home auction business of distressed properties. Steve is the Executive Vice President of Platinum Title Partners, LLC and is based in our Dallas Region. Steve is a member of the Texas Land Title Association and is active in local civic groups.
